S.C.C.E. Noesis is Eindhoven’s very own student chess club, open to all students in Eindhoven interested in the game of chess. Since the 17th of August 2021, we are an official association. In the summer of 2021, we created a great community of interested people. This community has seen a lot of growth, as we currently have 95 members! Our community thrives under good company, chess of all levels and nice cold beverages.
Every week on Wednesday, in the Luna building, we host a club night for our members. Here, training sessions, tournaments, chess variants, chess lectures and free play all take place. If you are interested, you are more than welcome to get a taste of what a Noesis club night is like. You should come and take a look some day!
One thing we do not host is serious competitive chess. The nature of our club is to play chess quite casually while having a good time. Although we do like to train and be competitive from time to time, it is not our focus. If you are interested in more competitive chess, it might be worth your time to check out the other chess clubs in Eindhoven, ESV and WLC. Both are great clubs that offer a special discount on their yearly contribution for students.
